ACQUISITION: SW Group acquires Decatur Storage, a 122,000 SF self-storage facility in Texas, marking the company's largest acquisition to date. The transaction brings SW Group's portfolio to 17 self-storage properties totaling approximately 800,000 SF and 4,500 units across Texas and the Sunbelt. The company cited the property's growing market, strong storage demand, and value-add potential as key investment drivers. Steve Wylie and Kevin Snodgrass led the acquisition effort. SW Group also acknowledged Danny Cunningham, Brock Hudson, Garrett Larkin, Craig Condon, Dorrance Monteith, and Greg J. Henson for their contributions to completing the transaction.

ACQUISITION: A Class A self-storage facility in Miami, Florida, changes hands in a transaction brokered by Coastal Storage Group. Located at 250 NE 135th Street, the Public Storage (Managed) property comprises a four-story facility totaling 94,542 NRSF with 1,050 climate-controlled units on 1.43 acres. The asset was approximately 70% physically occupied after 14 months of operation at the time of contract. Coastal Storage Group represented the seller and achieved an exceptional sale price. Josh Koerner led the transaction on behalf of the firm.

DEVELOPMENT: U-Haul opens a new moving and self-storage facility at 72710 Light House Blvd. in South Haven, Michigan. The new facility expands moving, transportation, and storage services in the area, offering climate-controlled and indoor self-storage units, moving truck rentals, trailers, U-Box portable containers, towing equipment, trailer hitch installation, truck sales, and moving supplies. The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, welcoming the facility as a new chamber member.

DEVELOPMENT: Basis Industrial secures a $24M construction loan for a new self-storage facility at 555 Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, New Jersey. The financing was provided by NexBank and NexPoint for the 85,330SF project, which will feature 586 storage units. Construction is expected to begin in August, with completion targeted for February 2028. Anthony Scavo said the project marks a major milestone after more than three years of approvals and reflects Basis Industrial’s strategy of expanding its self-storage platform in high-barrier, supply-constrained markets.
