ACQUISITION: Public Storage at 5251 N. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago has been acquired in a transaction brokered by Marcus & Millichap. Completed in 2024, the Class A facility comprises 916 climate-controlled storage units totaling 72,899 RSF. The property is located in a densely populated area with strong visibility along North Kedzie Avenue. Jeffrey Herrmann and Sean Delaney of Marcus & Millichap represented the Illinois-based LLC seller, while Sean Delaney also procured the buyer, a Texas-based LLC.

ACQUISITION: Glendale Indoor Storage in Glendale, Wisconsin (Milwaukee MSA), has been acquired in a transaction announced by EquiCap Commercial. The property at 2345 W. Mill Rd. comprises 94 units totaling 43,956 NRSF on 2.768 acres. Scott Rihm of EquiCap Commercial facilitated the transaction, reconnecting with a longtime local investor to complete the sale after an earlier deal fell through.

DEVELOPMENT: SecureSpace Self Storage opens SecureSpace Seattle Skyway at 5890 South 129th Street in Seattle, Washington. The four-story, Class A climate-controlled facility offers 72,625 SF of storage space across 822 units. Rebranded as SecureSpace Seattle Skyway, the property expands the company's presence in the Seattle market alongside its SecureSpace Tukwila and SecureSpace Beacon Hill locations.

DEVELOPMENT: COOL-BINZ expands into Georgia with the opening of its Greater Atlanta franchise, offering premium portable climate-controlled storage solutions. The new location, owned by Hugh Rowden and Michelle Rowden, officially opens on July 15 and will serve homeowners and businesses seeking climate-controlled storage for high-value assets. The franchise is part of the BELFOR Franchise Group. Mike Reddy, president of COOL-BINZ, highlighted the expansion as part of the company's continued nationwide growth of its portable climate-controlled storage platform.
