NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: Versal arranges the sale of Lasoto Self Storage, a 265-unit facility in Lancaster, Texas. The facility spans 44,940 net rentable SF and was originally built in the 1980s. Bill Bellomy, Michael Johnson, Logan Foster, and Hugh Horne represented the seller and procured the buyer, both Texas-based entities.

EXPANSION: Ultimate Storage Solutions expands its national platform with the addition of Big Blue Boxes. The combination enhances USS’s geographic footprint, inventory availability, and logistics capabilities, while integrating BBB’s container and intermodal services into the platform. Kevin Smith Jr and Andrew Longbella said the move will support operational scale, broader market coverage, and continued expansion opportunities in 2026.

DEVELOPMENT: Partners Self Storage LLC plans a new self-storage facility on a 5.6-acre site at 7655 E Highway 25 in south Marion County. The project, led by Joseph Stant with engineering by Kimley-Horn and Associates, will include at least 11 buildings, featuring four climate-controlled structures, additional storage buildings, and an office. The proposal is under county review and requires updates related to safety, utilities, and drainage approvals before moving forward.

DEVELOPMENT: Banner Storage Group completes Catalina Self-Storage at 627 S. Catalina Street in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood. The seven-story, 1,500-unit climate-controlled facility spans 166,000 SF and was developed on a 0.56-acre infill site directly above an active LA Metro Purple Line tunnel, marking one of the most complex self-storage projects in Southern California. The project was led by President Margo Conley with design by SGW Architects, construction by ARCO/Murray, and engineering support from Martin & Martin, Langan, Blue Peak Civil Engineering, and BCG, with operations managed by Extra Space Storage.
